Subi-Floreat's first and second grade teams' fight for a finals berth continued with a thrilling day of cricket on day one of the match against Willetton. Sent in to bat on a challenging pitch at Burrendah, Subi-Floreat's First Grade team was dismissed for 131, with Cam Green the only batsman to pass 20, with a superb 60 to continue his outstanding season with the bat. A recurrence of a hamstring injury, which saw Lucas Martin bowl only four balls, meant that a victory looked most unlikely. However a magnificent spell of spin bowling from skipper Chris Hansberry (4-29 off 17 overs), supported by Hamish McKenzie (2-30) saw Willetton 9-124 at stumps.
In Second Grade, Willetton won the toss and elected to bat on a beautiful pitch at Floreat Oval. An excellent spell of chinaman bowling from Angus McKenzie (5-53) and high quality seam bowling from left armer Ash Blake (3-42) saw Willetton bowled out for 166. At stumps, Subi-Floreat is 2-58 with Chris Isles 22 not out and Jamie Collins 3 not out. Kiran Prashanth compiled a classy 27 before before being dismissed just before the close of play.
